Village Water Restrictions

UPDATE: November 1, 2023 Water restrictions have changed from dry to normal conditions. Water Restrictions The stages of sprinkling restrictions are as follows: Normal and Dry stage (year round) odd numbered houses may water on odd days, except that there shall be no watering on the 31st day of any month, even numbered houses on even days between the hours of 7am and 9am and 7pm and 10pm. Annual Report

Sections 98 and 99 of the Community Charter require that an Annual Report be prepared, made available to the public and a specified meeting be held for Council to receive questions and comments prior to June 30 of each year. The Annual Report includes the 2022 Audited Financial Statements and Permissive Property Tax Exemptions for 2022. Kamloops Fire Centre Bans and Restrictions

July 7, 2023 In alignment with the Kamloops Fire Centre and numerous nearby local governments, the Village of Lumby is informing residents and visitors that campfires will be prohibited in all of the Village of Lumby including RDNO Electoral Areas beginning Friday, July 7, 2023, at 12:00 pm. The ban will remain in place until further notice. Prohibited activities include the use of: campfires; open burning (all); fireworks; sky lanterns; burn barrels or burn cages of any size or description; binary exploding targets; air curtain burners; tiki and similar kinds of torches; and, chimineas. Be Prepared – Spring Freshet Flood Preparation

Water levels in the creeks that flow through the Village of Lumby municipal boundaries are rising. It is the responsibilty of each property owner to protect their own property. To assist the residents of the Village, the Village of Lumby has placed sand and sand bags out (they are not prefilled) at the following locations: Parking Lot at the Curling Rink Entrance to the Salmon Trail on Faulkner The Village of Lumby continues to monitor creek water levels daily. Financial Plan & Tax Rates Bylaws Adopted

At its Regular Meeting dated April 17, 2023 Council adopted Village of Lumby Financial Plan Bylaw No. 881, 2023. BACKGROUND At its’ Regular Meeting dated February 21, 2023 Council gave first reading to Financial Plan Bylaw No. 881, 2023. Communities across the North Okanagan Join Alertable

North Okanagan communities have joined together through the use of the same emergency notification system, Alertable, to share time-sensitive and emergency-related information. The City of Armstrong, District of Coldstream, City of Enderby, Village of Lumby, Township of Spallumcheen, Okanagan Indian Band and the RDNO’s five electoral areas (B,C,D,E, and F) have signed on to use of the notification app to provide more streamlined communication around emergencies. The City of Vernon joined Alertable earlier this year, so the additional communities signing on with the same system helps create consistency throughout the region.
