The Village of Lumby follows all prohibitions initiated by BC Wildfire Service. There are to be no Category 1, 2 or 3 burning within the Village. Water Restrictions – Effective Immediately June 22, 2026

June 22, 2026 Effective immediately (June 22, 2026), the Village of Lumby enacts water restrictions under Bylaw 700, 2009 to reflect "Very Dry" conditions. These restrictions are as follows: Even number houses may water Wednesday and Saturday in cooler times of day Odd number houses may water Tuesday and Friday in cooler times of day No filling of pools or hot tubs No water use for vehicles, sidewalk or driveway cleaning All municipal sprinkling will be turned off Given the drought and heat conditions anticipated in the coming months, please use water conservatively to avoid additional restrictions and…

Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade and Odour in Community

April 30, 2026 Village of Lumby The Village of Lumby would like to acknowledge the complaints received regarding the odour arising from the wastewater treatment plant. We understand that the smell can be disruptive for residents and businesses, however factors outside of staffs control are present. Each spring, as the temperature rises, the lagoons which filter effluent turn over, resulting in the odours experienced throughout the Village.
