2022 Financial Plan – Adopted

At the Tuesday February 22, 2022 Regular Meeting, Council gave 1st and 2nd Reading to the Village of Lumby Financial Plan Bylaw No. 864, 2022. We asked for public consultation and participation on the budget. Council considered public comments and gave 3rd reading at its Regular Meeting dated Monday March 21st, 2022. Active Transportation Network Plan

The Village of Lumby has received a grant from the province’s Active Transportation Grant Program to explore the current active transportation network in Lumby and to develop an Active Transportation Network Plan (ATNP). The ATNP will guide the future development and implementation of walking, rolling and cycling facilities for the entire community. Lumby receives grant for Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrades

The Village of Lumby has successfully received funding from both the Federal and Provincial governments to upgrade the existing wastewater treatment plant (lagoons) to a new modernized wastewater treatment plant that will meet the harmonized Federal and Provincial government wastewater treatment regulations. Council Adopts ICBC/MV Business Case

At its' Regular Meeting dated October 18, 2021 Council adopted the ICBC/MV Business Case. Recommendations approved by Council from the business case include: relocating ICBC/MV services to the existing Council Chambers.constructing a new Council Chambers meeting room at the east end of the municipal office building. The new meeting room objective is to allow for increased public participation through creating a space to accommodate up to 50 people for meetings, public hearings and other civic related meetings. Oval Park and the White Valley Community Centre Reopened. Lumby Spray Park and Lumby Pool Remain Closed for Monitoring

Following the report of a possible chemical exposure at the Lumby Spray Park and Pool, a hazmat team from the City of Vernon’s fire department responded to investigate. The hazmat team has concluded their response and found that there was an individual exposure to an accidental mixing of chemicals, and there is no risk to the public. The hazmat team has disposed of the mixture. As a result, the Oval Park at 1815 Glencaird Street, the White Valley Community Centre at 2250 Shields in Lumby, BC, have reopened after a precautionary closure was implemented at 9 am on…

Temporary Closure of Oval Park, White Valley Community Centre, Okanagan Regional Library, Lumby Spray Park, and Lumby Pool

The Oval Park, including Lumby Spray Park and Pool located at 1815 Glencaird Street, and the White Valley Community Centre and Lumby Branch of the Okanagan Regional Library located at 2250 Shields in Lumby, BC, are closed until further notice due to a potential chemical exposure. While opening the park for the day and performing their routine maintenance operations, a Lumby staff member reported feeling unwell while handling chemicals, and is on route to the hospital for further observation.
