PUBLIC HEARING MONDAY AUGUST 16 @ 6:00 PM – Lumby Municipal Office, 1775 Glencaird Street

This PUBLIC HEARING is being held pursuant to Section 464 of the Local Government Act in order to receive verbal and written submission from persons who believe that their interest in property is affected by Official Community Plan Amendment Bylaw No. 833, 2019:

Official Community Plan Amendment Bylaw No. 833, 2019

• Official Community Plan Amendment Bylaw No. 833, 2019 proposes to amend Village of Lumby Official Community Plan (OCP) Bylaw No. 761, 2014 by adding a Trail Network Plan as Schedule “G” and related policy statements. Bylaw No. 833 also proposes to combine OCP Section 4.16 Park Land and Natural Areas, with OCP Section 4.2 Parks, Recreation and Open Space to eliminate overlap and to group related goals and policies together.

All persons who believe that their interest in property is affected by Bylaw No. 833, 2019 will be given an opportunity to be heard at this Public Hearing.

Those of you who wish to speak concerning the proposed bylaw should commence your comments to Council by clearly stating your name and address. You will be given 5 minutes to make your comments. You may be permitted an additional 5 minutes if everyone else who wishes to speak has done so and you are addressing points raised by other speakers following your initial presentation.

Council members may, if they wish, ask questions of you following your presentation. However, the main function of Council members this evening is to listen to the views of the public concerning the change of land use in the proposed bylaws; it is not the function of Council at this public hearing to debate the merits of the proposal with individual citizens.

Everyone will be given a reasonable opportunity to be heard at this meeting.  No one will be or should feel discouraged or prevented from making his or her views heard.
