An additional week was added before late penalties are charged in an effort to accommodate residents with this issue. Category 1 Campfires permitted throughout the Kamloops Fire Centre KAMLOOPS – Effective at 12:00 noon Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) on Sept. 29, Category 1 campfires will be permitted throughout the Kamloops Fire Centre. Category 2 and Category 3 open fires remain prohibited throughout the Kamloops Fire Centre. Consistent with the Kamloops Fire Centre Prohibition, as of noon on August 28, Category 1 campfires will be prohibited in the Village of Lumby, along with open burning (all), fireworks, sky lanterns, binary exploding targets, burn barrels/burn cages, air curtain burners, chimineas, and tiki and similar kinds of torches.
