Avian influenza (Bird Flu) detections are increased at this time in wild and domestic birds with periodic cases in wild animals. There have been outbreaks of avian influenza in commercial and non-commercial poultry in BC. Overall, the current strain of avian influenza A(H5N1) circulating in birds in North America poses low risk to the public.  People who come into contact with sick birds or other animals have a higher risk of infection and should take precautions. Category 1 Campfire Prohibition planned for the Kamloops Fire Centre

Consistent with the Kamloops Fire Centre Prohibition, as of noon on August 28, Category 1 campfires will be prohibited in the Village of Lumby, along with open burning (all), fireworks, sky lanterns, binary exploding targets, burn barrels/burn cages, air curtain burners, chimineas, and tiki and similar kinds of torches. Annual Report

Sections 98 and 99 of the Community Charter require that an Annual Report be prepared, made available to the public and a specified meeting be held for Council to receive questions and comments prior to June 30 of each year. The Annual Report includes the 2024 Audited Financial Statements and Permissive Property Tax Exemptions for 2024. Category 3 Open Fire Prohibition planned for the Kamloops Fire Centre

Category 3 Open Fire Prohibition planned for the Kamloops Fire Centre KAMLOOPS – Effective at 12:00 (PDT) noon, on May 16 2025, Category 3 open fire will be prohibited throughout the Kamloops Fire Centre to help prevent human-caused wildfires and protect public safety. This open fire prohibition will remain in effect until 12:00 (PDT) noon on October 17, 2025 or until the orders are rescinded. Hi Visibility House Number Sign Program

Get your reflective address sign!  If we can’t see you, we can’t find you!  Contact the Village of Lumby Municipal Office (250-547-2171) for more details or to order a sign.  The Village will provide the sign free of charge.  There is a $25 installation fee to support the Lumby Firefighters Association - they will be installing your reflective sign. 2025 supplies are limited, so if you aren't able to get a sign, please leave your information with Village staff in case more signs become available.
