High Visibility House Number Sign Program

High visibility house numbers help emergency responders and others find your home. The Lumby and District Fire Department will install your reflective sign after it has been ordered and received. The Village provides the sign free of charge; however, there is a $25 fee to support the volunteer Lumby firefighters who do the installation. The installation is completed by the volunteer firefighters to ensure consistency. . While you can choose your layout, your sign layout may need to be substituted due to location or availability. $3.2 Million Announced for New Affordable Homes for Seniors in Lumby.

On January 29, 2024 the BC Government announced approximately $3.2 million through the Building BC: Community Housing Fund for the construction of a new affordable seniors housing complex to be called Cottonwood Place.  Expected to be completed in 2025, Cottonwood Place will be located at 1761 Glencaird Street, adjacent to Lumby’s Old Age Pension Hall.  For seniors who want to live independently, this new option will provide 20 much-needed affordable single-bedroom units, including three wheelchair accessible suites, a common area, and vehicle and enclosed scooter parking.
